The Process - What Happens Next

Before we get down to business, please understand the following:

We do not judge your business by a credit bureau report.

In today’s environment, damaged credit has become common, not fatal.
Good dealerships can have bad reports — especially after COVID, supply disruptions, floorplan stress, and margin compression.  Our job is to understand what actually happened, what still works, and what can realistically be fixed.

🗣️ Step One:  A Real Conversation

We start with a confidential conversation — not an interview.

We’ll talk through:

  • What’s changed in your local market

  • When things started to go sideways

  • What pressure you’re feeling right now

We’re not looking for perfection.   We’re looking for clarity.

🏦 Step Two:  Where Things Stand Today

We’ll gently walk through the current status of your dealership relationships, including:

  • Your bank or primary lender

  • Floorplan position and inventory aging (no judgment — just facts)

  • Key suppliers and OEMs

  • Landlord or lease obligations

  • Staff morale, turnover, or shortages

If relationships are strained, we want to know how strained.  If there are threats, notices, or ultimatums — that matters.  Not to scare you.  To avoid surprises later.

🛠️ Step Three:  What You’ve Already Tried

Before we bring in our expertise, we want to understand what you have already done.

That includes:

  • Cost cutting or restructuring attempts

  • Conversations with lenders or suppliers

  • Changes to staffing, inventory, or operations

This isn’t about blame.  It tells us whether a loan will help, or just delay the inevitable.

📹 Step Four:  A Simple Dealership Walk-Through Video

At a certain point, we will ask for a basic walk-around video of your dealership.

This does not need to be professionally done.  A phone is fine.

What matters is that it’s honest.

We ask that it shows:

  • The showroom and inventory (good and bad)

  • Service department and work flow

  • Parts area

  • General condition and atmosphere

Why this matters:
If the video paints a false picture, serious investors will see it immediately during due diligence.  And once credibility is lost, the conversation is over.

Honesty here protects you.

🔍 Step Five:  Analysis Before Any Outreach, here is where we slow down a bit

With AI  flying at a speed it is hard to keep up. Now we have to slow down and apply the information to the solution.

Only after we understand the full picture do we begin analysis.

This includes:

  • Cash-flow stress points

  • Debt structure and pressure zones

  • Operational strengths still worth saving

  • Capital types that make sense — and those that don’t

We do this before approaching lenders or investors,
so your situation isn’t damaged by unnecessary declines or poor positioning.

🚪 What This Process Is — and What It Is Not

This process is:

  • Respectful

  • Confidential

  • Designed to reduce risk and wasted effort

This process is not:

  • A credit-score test

  • A bank-style interrogation

  • A one-size-fits-all checklist

We are not looking for perfect businesses.
We are looking for salvageable ones.

If we believe there is a realistic path forward, we will tell you.

If there isn’t — we will also tell you, honestly, and early.

Either way, you’ll know exactly where you stand.
